Sharing progress to date and ideas/actions for the future the group demonstrated a solid commitment to progressing the HCP further into the community and deciding on some promotional; events and materials inviting others to become involved in what has become a foundational, community building exercise for the Denmark community at large.

Each group is following the action plan specifics for this year, which will evolve into the Denmark Community Resource Network and Hub, once the project phase concludes this year.

The Denmark Community Hub is coming to Denmark

Since the very successful community forum held on 8th June 2007, the Community Resource Network voluntary Steering Committee members have invested many hours in establishing a sound foundation.

The Community Resource Network is now ready to open The Denmark Community Hub in a centrally located in Denmark. Our Mission is, ‘to promote community well-being by connecting people and providing access to information and resources’.

Our long term vision is that The Denmark Hub will be a vibrant community gathering place where all people and groups feel supported to connect with each other and share skills, knowledge and resources that assist them to meet their needs and achieve their aspirations.

A Community Groups Database is now available in hard copy at the Library and the Visitors Centre and an online version will be available in April. If you would like your Group to be added to the Database, please return questionnaires or contact Rosemary Girvin on 9848 2497 for further information.

We now seeking dedicated, experienced people willing to expend the occasional few hours needed to be advisors to the voluntary Community Resource Network Steering Committee, to guide them in establishing the fledgling operation of the Denmark Community Hub and its Projects. It is envisaged that between them, the advisors will have knowledge of business administration including insurance matters, financial and human resource management.

Information outlining the vision, aims and priorities of the Community Resource Network for 2008 and 2009 is available and should answer most questions of those interested in being advisors. Terms of Reference for the advisors will be negotiated.

If you feel you or your business could offer the benefit of your expertise on a voluntary basis, please contact Josephine Lebbing on 9848 3143 mobile 0438045853 , and we will be pleased to send you information and/or discuss it with you personally.
